In other words, quit effing around doing things that won’t get you where you need to be. Thanks, Ernie.

Do you remember reading Le Petit Prince? I’d forgotten all about it but am looking forward to sharing with Miss J. when she’s old enough! There are a lot of books that I can’t wait to revisit.
Introducing…two very important members of our household: Romeo (White Boy) and Pugsley (Black Boy).
The boys got their quarterly haircuts last week. This time they came back with the style called “The Lion.” I think this is a vast improvement over the little rat tails they had last time. The pom-poms on the ends of their tails make me think of little Dr. Seuss creatures.
Today Ms. J. grabbed Romeo’s tail tuft and tried to stuff it into her mouth, which was alarming but funny at the same time. Romeo just stood there and purred.

“Somebody once asked me if I ever went up to the plate trying to hit a home run. I said, ‘Sure, every time.’”

It’s so amazing how almost all kids go through the same stages as they are growing. Miss J. is in the put-everything-in-her-mouth stage. This includes bibs, toys, blankets, and fingers (hers AND ours!)
She has a love-hate relationship with this particular toy. It’s easy to pick up and she holds onto it with a death grip, but she gets really mad at it because dammit, it just won’t fit in her mouth!
“I’m being trained to shake the bon-bon appropriately.“
-Clay Aiken

This quote just made me giggle. That and the fact that there is actually a list of Clay Aiken quotes online. I’m not a Clay hatah or anything, but C’MON.
